Julian of Norwich. Probably the first female writer in English. She’s super cool! That’s a hazelnut in her hand—she had a vision in which all of creation was contained within a single hazelnut in her hand. She was afraid to drop it because of its smallness, but Christ assured her that he would keep it safe.
